Benoit Richard: Rythmic Light

A self-described “frustrated musician,” this Los Angeles based LD strives to impart a melodic quality to his designs, so they not only light the performance on stage, but also move in rhythm to it. Over the years, Richard’s lighting has danced with some of the best musicians, including longtime client Matchbox Twenty and Carrie Underwood, for whom he lit “The Champion,” which the star performed at the opening of NBC’s broadcast of Super Bowl LII. He spoke to us about the music of light.
