Rick Fisher: Inevitable Light

The multi Tony Award- and Olivier Award-winning lighting designer, who’s responsible for such seminal works as An Inspector Calls and Billy Elliot, spoke to us from his London home about the process of making light fit naturally into the flow of a story on stage.

Richard Cadena: The Music Of Light

They don’t only share the stage at concerts, music and lighting also spring from the same fiery passion that resides inside every creative person. Renowned lighting guru Richard Cadena breaks down the relationship between these two powerful artistic forces and analyzes how their interplay can aid lighting design.

Diana Kesselschmidt: Lighting Time and Place

When designing for outdoor events, Diana Kesselschmidt looks beyond the venue itself and considers the surrounding area. Lighting to fit the overall environment, rather than focusing exclusively on a specific location, has helped her create compelling outdoor designs, such as her work at Winter Village at Bryant Park in Manhattan.

Arlo Guthrie: Strikes Up Looks for Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lampert’s “Livin’ Like Hippies” tour takes fans on an emotional journey with the star as she sings about life, love and the freedom of the open road. Paul “Arlo” Guthrie strengthens this connection with warm audience lighting from our STRIKE 4 fixtures.

STRIKE P38 is a compact, punchy and outdoor-ready blinder and strobe powered by a 90 W warm white LED source. An emulated “amber shift” warms the color temperature of the light as it dims to perfectly mimic incandescent lights. The unit’s IP-rated fan keeps it cool enough for use as a wash, while IP-rated direct power and DMX connections eliminate undesirable whips. Control it with adjustable PWM and RDM for added flexibility.
