MANCHESTER, UK – After falling into disrepair in the late 20th century, one of Manchester’s most famous industrial revolution-era relics, the Victoria Warehouse, recently underwent a major restoration to begin a new life as a unique and multi-purpose cultural hub. In addition to a concert hall, the complex is home to “The Bays,” an area specifically created for the purpose of hosting corporate events, such as conferences, award dinners, networking events, cocktail receptions and special events.

Adding to the versatility of the revitalized venue is a collection of 165 CHAUVET Professional COLORdash Accent Quad fixtures, installed by the Sterling Event Group. Drawing on the color mixing capabilities of the RGBA fixtures, Victoria Warehouse’s staff is able to create a variety of backdrops to support different functions.

Richard Nicholson, Project Manager at Sterling Event Group, positioned the COLORdash fixtures next to the industrial-era steel columns to ensure more immersive coverage.

“Given the architectural setup within both bay areas, the incredibly compact build of the COLORdash Accents ensured that we could provide a discrete solution for downlighting each pillar,” he said. “What’s more, we know from past experience that these fixtures are incredibly easy to set up and install. As a result, we were able to integrate them seamlessly into the space in no time at all.”

Nicholson also praised the output of the 10-watt LED fixtures. “The COLORdash units are surprisingly bright, especially considering their tiny footprint,” he said. “Furthermore, the brightness is complemented by the fixture’s ability to produce strong, saturated colors – exactly what the venue was looking for in order to create mood and atmosphere for corporate events by clients like Adidas, Audi, BBC, BMW, Facebook, and Heineken.”

The 50,000-hour life expectancy and rugged construction of the LED washes provides Victoria Warehouse with a much-appreciated level of reliability. “The COLORdash fixtures are in almost constant use,” said Nicholson. “Because the fixtures have proven to be extremely effective for us in the past, we didn’t have any qualms about specifying them. Victoria Warehouse is a completely unique and versatile event space, and we’re confident that the COLORdash fixtures have given the venue a lighting solution that fits its needs.”
